复合宾语是一种句子结构，由宾语和宾语补足语两部分组成。当某些动词接一个宾语后，句子的意思仍不完整，需要再加上一个词或短语放在宾语之后来补充说明其身份、特征、状态或所做的动作。这种结构通常由“宾语 + 宾语补足语”构成。能够充当宾补即宾语补足语的大致有：不定式，现在分词，过去分词，形容词，副词，介宾短语等。
名词作宾语补语
- She considers him her best friend. (她把他视为她最好的朋友。)
- They elected her president of the club. (他们选举她为俱乐部主席。)
- We call him Jack. (我们叫他杰克。)
- They appointed him chairman. (他们任命他为主席。)
- I think the job a great honor. 我认为这份工作是一种莫大的荣幸。
形容词作宾语补语
- I want to make her happy. 我想让她开心。
- He made the room cozy with warm lighting. (他用温暖的灯光让房间变得舒适。)
- She considers his behavior unacceptable. (她认为他的行为不可接受。)
- We painted the walls bright yellow. (我们把墙涂成了亮黄色。)
- She found the movie incredibly boring. (她觉得这部电影非常无聊。)
现在分词作宾语补语
- She found the movie fascinating. (她觉得这部电影很有趣。)
- I saw him beating the boy. 我看到他殴打那个男孩。

过去分词作宾语补语

- We saw the thief caught by the police.我们看见小偷被警察抓住了。
- I had my bike stolen. 我的自行车被偷了。
- I saw the ground covered with snow. 我看到地上覆盖着雪。
- I heard the song sung in English.我听到有人用英语唱过这首歌。
不定式作宾语补语
带to 的不定式作宾语补语：
- We invited him to join our school. (我们邀请他加入我们学校。)
- We cannot permit them to proceed with that. (我们不能允许他们继续那样做。)
- I caution you not to trust a single word he utters. (我警告你，不要相信他说的任何一句话。)
有些动词只跟不带to的不定式作宾语补语：
- I often hear him read English in his room. (我经常听到他在房间里读英语。)
- Please let me handle it. (请让我来处理。)
- They made me repeat the story. (他们逼我重新讲述那件事。)
- She watched him repair the bicycle. (她看着他修理自行车。)
- Did you notice anyone come in? (你注意到有人进来了吗？)
动词help 可以跟带to 的不定式作宾语补语，也可以跟不带to的不定式作宾语补足语。但被动时则要加to：
- She sometimes helps her mother (to) wash clothes. 她有时帮她妈妈洗衣服。
- I helped him (to) find his things. 我帮他找东西.
- They were helped to complete the project. 他们得到帮助完成项目。
介词短语作宾语补语
We found everything in good order. 我们发现一切井然有序。
He awoke to find the house on fire. 他醒来时发现房子着了火。
When I called on Tom, I found him at his desk. 我拜访汤姆时，发现他在伏案工作。
We have him as our good friend. 我们把他视为好朋友。
副词短语作宾语补语
- Send them back. 把它们退回去。
- I can’t get the nail out. 我没法把这个钉子拔出。
- Please turn the light off before you leave. 离开前请关灯。
