当我们在英语中使用复合句时，状语从句作为一个修饰成分，可以描述时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、方式、比较和让步。
时间状语从句：
- When I arrived, the party had already started.（当我到达时，派对已经开始了。）
- After she finishes her homework, she can go out to play.（她做完作业后，可以出去玩。）
- Before you leave, don’t forget to lock the door.（在你离开之前，别忘了锁门。）
- While I was cooking dinner, my phone rang.（我在做晚餐的时候，手机响了。）
- As soon as the sun rises, the birds start singing.（太阳一升起，鸟儿就开始唱歌了。）
地点状语从句：
- Wherever you go, I will follow you. (无论你去哪里，我都会跟着你。)
- I will meet you where the river meets the sea. (我会在河流汇入大海的地方和你见面。)
- The hotel is located where the two main streets intersect. (酒店位于两条主要街道交汇的地方。)
- She sat where she could see the stage clearly.（她坐在能清楚看到舞台的地方。）
- The treasure is hidden where nobody can find it.（宝藏被藏在没人能找到的地方。）
原因状语从句：
- He missed the bus because he overslept.（他错过了公交车，因为他睡过头了。）
- She didn’t eat much since she wasn’t feeling well.（她没吃多少，因为她身体不舒服。）
- Because he was sick, he didn’t go to work. (因为他生病了，所以他没去上班。)
- Since it’s raining, we should stay inside. (既然下雨了，我们应该呆在室内。)
- As she was tired, she decided to take a nap. (由于她很累，所以她决定小睡一会儿。)
目的状语从句：
- We study hard so that we can pass the exam.（我们努力学习，以便能通过考试。）
- In order that we may succeed, we must work hard. (为了我们能够成功，我们必须努力工作。)
- So that you don’t forget, I will write it down for you. (为了你不会忘记，我会为你写下来。)

- She wore a coat such that she wouldn’t catch a cold.（她穿了一件外套，以免感冒。）
条件状语从句：
- If it rains, I will stay at home.（如果下雨了，我会呆在家里。）

方式状语从句：
- She sings as if she were an angel.（她唱歌就像是天使一样。）
- He walked as if he were drunk.（他走路像喝醉了一样。）
- She spoke to him as though he were a child.（她对他说话就像他是个孩子一样。）
- He looked at her the way a lion looks at its prey.（他看着她的眼神就像狮子看待猎物一样。）
- She danced as if nobody was watching her.（她跳舞的样子就像没人在看她一样。）
比较状语从句：
- He runs faster than I do.（他跑得比我快。）
- She is as beautiful as a rose.（她像玫瑰一样美丽。）
- He is not as tall as his brother.（他不如他的兄弟高。）
- She sings more beautifully than anyone else.（她唱歌比任何人都要美妙。）
- He runs less quickly than his friend.（他跑得比他的朋友慢。）
- The weather is not as hot today as it was yesterday.（今天的天气没有昨天那么热。）
- 让步状语从句：
- Although it was raining, I decided to go outside.（尽管下雨了，我还是决定要出去。）
- She passed the examination though she had not studied very hard.（她虽然不用功学习，考试却及格了。）
- While I believe it, I must consider.（我虽信，但还要考虑一下。）
- Hard as he works, he makes little progress.（尽管他学习很努力，进步还是很小。）
- We’ll make a trip even if the weather is bad.（即使天气很差我们也要去旅行。）
