英语中的从句可以分为三类：名词性从句、形容词性从句和副词性从句。其中，名词性从句包括主语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句和表语从句；形容词性从句主要指定语从句，又有限定性定语从句和非限定性定语从句之分；副词性从句可以等同于状语从句，包括时间状语从句、地点状语从句、条件状语从句、原因状语从句、结果状语从句、目的状语从句、让步状语从句和方式状语从句。
- 引导名词性从属连词：that, whether, if, what, whatever, who, whom, whoever, whomever, which, whichever, whose, how
- I don’t know what he’s doing. 我不知道他在做什么。
- He asked me whether I was hungry. 他问我是否饿了。
- She told me that she was leaving. 她告诉我她要离开。
- 引导副词性从属连词：when, where, while, as, since, until, before, after
- I’ll wait here until you come back. 我会在这里等你回来，直到你回来为止。
- He left after he finished his work. 他完成工作后离开了。
- She was singing as she cooked dinner. 她一边煮晚饭一边唱歌。
- 引导形容词性从属连词：whose, which
- The book whose cover is red is mine. 那本封面红色的书是我的。
- The car which he bought is very expensive. 他买的那辆车非常昂贵。
