连词是一种虚词，在句中起连接作用，可以用来连接单词、短语、从句、分句或句子。在句子中不单独作句子成分，一般不重读。根据连词的本身含义及所连接的成分是否平等，连词可分为并列连词和从属连词两大类。
- 并列连词：and, or, but, not only…but also…, both…and…等。
- 从属连词：that, whether, when, although, because等。
表选择关系或对等关系的连接词：either…or…，neither…nor, or, as well as…, and, both…and…
表示转折关系的连词：however，nevertheless，nonetheless，but，yet，still，on the contrary，even though，although，despite等。
表因果关系或对等关系的连接词：therefore, so, as a result, as the result of …，because of, due to …,owing to, thanks to等
表时间顺序的连接词：the moment, as soon as, at first, then, later, meanwhile等。
表示解释说明的连词：for example，in fact，in this case，for actually， for instance等。
表示总结的连词：in a word，all in all，above all，finally，at last，in conclusion，as I have shown，in another word，in brief，in short，in general，last but not least等。
