当作主语时，英语中的主语可以是名词、代词、不定式、动名词、数词、名词化的形容词、短语或主语从句。
名词
- The cat is sleeping on the couch.（猫在沙发上睡觉。）
- The book is on the table.（书在桌子上。）
- My mother is a teacher.（我妈妈是一名老师。）
代词
- It is raining outside.（外面在下雨。）
- They are coming to the party.（他们要来参加聚会。）
